Miracles Happen if You Show Up
Aug 18, 2017
Miracles can happen if you just show up consistently. In the gym we see one of the biggest things people struggle with is consistency. Many people struggle to be consistent when it comes to eating healthy meals and getting their exercise. Often times people are amazed at what happens if they just show up regularly.
When you develop your habits and get into a rhythm great things can happen if you just keep going. There is a Bible verse says not to grow weary in doing good because eventually you will reap if you don't give up. This principle applies to pretty much every area of your life, health, fitness, money, relationships, etc.
For this to happen you must put an emphasis on showing up both mentally and physically. As an example, if you show up for your workout physically but not mentally you are probably not going to get the same results. If you show up for your date with your spouse or spend time with your kids but you are not there mentally the results again will not be the same.
To really get breakthrough results you must show up and be fully present consistently. Just checking the box every time may not provide the same results.
Last week we talked about the path to life and success being narrow. Life wants to throw you curveballs and adversities to knock you off the path. So how do you stay on the path?
Whenever you start a new good habit you won't be able to tell a tremendous difference at first. It will seem like it is not working because it often times just feels like a struggle. This is a big trap because as you continue to show up every day you are building compound interest that will one day grow exponentially.
As an example, I have been giving baseball hitting lessons to some kids lately. One of the kids I have been working with has made tremendous progress, but he has a hard time seeing it in the middle of the lessons. All he sees is that he is not hitting it exactly the way he wants to yet and it is frustrating for him. I can tell that he has made a lot of progress but it is still frustrating for him. If he just stays on the path and keeps showing up he will turn into a tremendous hitter.
Progress often comes in sudden jumps. It will seem like nothing is happening for a while, but if you keep showing up all of the sudden you will take a huge leap forward. Everyone will think it was some magical thing you did but what they don't see is how consistently you have been showing up.
Keep going, show up, pay attention to how you show up( be present) and miracles will happen.
