  • The End is Better

    Jul 28, 2017

Many of you have heard me talk about the principle of the beginning and the end, which states that if the beginning and the end of something are in the right place then everything in the middle will take care of itself. This is a universal principle that applies to everything - your workouts, daily routines, and just about anything else you can think of.  The beginning and the end are both very important but there is a Bible verse that says the end or finish of a thing is better than the start.  Getting started and getting on a good path is crucial but finishing is even more important.

Many people never get started.   You must get started.  Do not be afraid to start small and focus on building momentum.  The Bible says not to despise small beginnings.   However, once you have started you must focus on being a good finisher.  Anytime you get on a good path life will try to throw you curve balls in the form of adversity, busy schedules, etc that try to knock you off the path.  How can you apply this to your life.

Body transformation - If you have started working to improve your body I can guarantee there will be days when it is not easy to eat well or get your workout in.   Focus on persisting until you reach your goal.

End of your workouts - We typically do finishers at the end of our workouts.   These finishers focus on producing speed and power and we have found that this seals in the results from your workouts.

Ending Your Day - What does your evening routine look like?  You could begin to evaluate your day and make adjustments.  You could also start planning fo the next day.

End of the week - Do you have a process for closing out your week?   You could evaluate your week, make adjustments, and plan for the next week.

End of the month - Just like a business closes out each month you can close out your month evaluating, making adjustments, and setting goals.

End of the year - Businesses also close out each year.  Try to finish each year strong and then focus on evaluating, making adjustments, and setting goals.

Just remember that when you are under the greatest pressure and you are tempted to quit you are often close to a breakthrough.  Think about sports.   The pressure in all sports is in the end of seasons and games.   It is at the end of a game where all the pressure lies.   When you are under pressure and tempted to quit persevere and you will break through to a new level.
